In short

## Where is live AI translation used?

Updated 26 October 2026

Live AI translation helps whenever speakers and listeners don’t share a language. Conference organisers use SalamAI’s one-way mode to translate keynotes and panels into up to ten languages on audience phones. Places of worship use it for sermons and community talks. Companies use it for multilingual staff meetings and training, with saved transcripts for the record. Reception desks, service counters and event booths use two-way translation for one-to-one conversations, and larger events run several translation stations from one campaign. In Malaysia, one event can need Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin and Tamil at the same time. For legal, clinical or consent discussions, a qualified interpreter is still the right choice.

### How do you choose the right setup?

Start with who speaks and who listens. One speaker to many listeners, such as a keynote, sermon, lecture or briefing, needs one-way translation with an audience link for each language. Two people who need to talk to each other, such as at a desk or in a meeting, need two-way translation. Several counters at one event need translation stations run from a campaign. If the speaker is somewhere else, add Remote Speaker. If people mainly need to read, use captions or transcription. Then check the languages, the audio source and the venue internet, and test the whole setup before the day.

## Save a transcript of your meeting.

Transcribe live meetings, presentations and discussions into readable text. Save a transcript for review, and use the summariser on supported sessions to pull out key points, decisions and action items. Choose a summary-enabled session when you need both; standalone Transcribe only does not generate summaries.
