SalamAI charges for connected translation time at your organisation’s agreed rates. Each output language and two-way direction is counted separately. Audience listeners do not each need a paid translation session.

Updated
SalamAI charges for connected translation time at your organisation’s agreed rates, set out in a rate card. Each output language counts separately, and so does each direction in a two-way conversation. Audience size does not add translation sessions: listeners share a language output through its link. For example, three output languages connected for two hours use six output-hours, or 360 output-minutes. Connected time can include silence, so stop the session when you finish; Autosleep can pause eligible extra outputs when no listeners remain. Summaries, documents and other processing may add charges. For a quote, share your event duration, languages and audio setup.
Start with three numbers: how long translation will be connected, how many output languages you need, and whether any conversations are two-way. Multiply hours by languages to get output-hours: a conference day with six connected hours in four languages is 24 output-hours. Two-way stations count each direction separately. Then apply your organisation’s agreed rate card and add any optional processing, such as summaries or listener documents. Audience size does not add translation sessions, so a hall of 50 and a hall of 500 using the same languages need the same translation time. Send these details to ask for a quote.

How billing works
Usage-based translation
Your rate card is your organisation’s agreed price list and billing currency. Usage is measured to the second. The translation type and enabled options affect the charge.

Operators can set “Stop this run after” for an event, within the organisation’s limit. Billing for a run stops at that limit, even if a session is left running.
In Reports, use Activity & costs for translation usage and billing. Use Statistics for audience activity. Estimated listener minutes are not billed translation minutes. Understand the report figures →
Create time-limited delegate access for events, monitor active stations and Help requests, and review accumulated usage by campaign and grant. Explore campaign stations →
Use a translation glossary for preferred translated terms. The separate Vocabulary list guides speech recognition for original-language captions and transcription. It accepts up to 100 terms, which apply when you next press Start.
Team administrators and auditors can create their organisation’s usage statement and view its issued invoices. Platform administrators review and issue invoices.
User roles
Run sessions, share listening links and save content where permitted.
Invite teammates, manage access, monitor usage and organise campaigns.
Manage organisations, limits, file retention and billing.
Set limits, recording retention and session duration for each organisation. Review billing across teams, including usage without an assigned price. Rate cards keep past versions. A dedicated deployment can provide a separate database. Organisation deletion destroys its encryption keys and requires controlled, audited action.

Common questions
There is no single public price. Your organisation has an agreed price list, called a rate card. Ask for a quote with your event duration, language outputs and audio setup. Request SalamAI pricing.
Connected session time can include silence. Stop the session when you finish. Automatic stop and pause features may reduce unused time, but do not guarantee that all idle time is free.
For example, three output languages connected for two hours each use six output-hours, or 360 output-minutes. Apply your agreed rates and any extra processing charges. This is a billing example, not a price quote.
No. Listeners share an existing language output through its audience link. Adding another translated language creates separate billable usage. See audience listening.
Yes. Set “Stop this run after” for the event, within your organisation’s limit. Connected time for that run is billed at most up to the limit, and Autosleep can pause eligible extra outputs when no listeners remain.
